as reply to A lacking community

I believe in 1-1 relationships over communities - ANYDAY!!

I think the most genuine relationships are 1-1. If I didn't develop a good relationship with the individual, it is very hard to work on more than 2 for me. I assumed it's because I am an introvert. I am sure I have written about this before. Having said that, I think the smaller the group, the better the genuineness of the relationships - which is why 2 is ideal for me.

I think a lot of us did get along in 200WaD but the ones that did things together - in pairs or more - helped to develop the sense of the community. I think Sir Abe had a lot to do with bringing a lot of us together in 200WaD even before Adagia.com because he is genuinely into people and relationships. The rest of us gravitate towards people we get along with and share goals with. Sir Abe goes a step beyond that. One day I will learn to be like him.

In short, to me the size of the community is less meaningful than the quality of the relationships. I feel like I have beautiful friendships with 3-4 people here and with Jason. I cherish those friendships and have become a better person for it with the side effect of becoming a better writer.
I'm think that even the best groups simply consist of strong bonds of 1-1 relationships that just happen to coincide with the right amount of the same people.
