and writing about music gave me the itch to crank out a few lines about it. One of my coworkers has a birthday on Wednesday, and it just so happens we have a working session scheduled that morning with the whole team. Rather than play the Doctrine episode wishing her a happy anniversary of her birth day, I decided to go a different route and avoid shameless self-promotion.
On Tik Tok, I've seen videos with a mash-up of 50 Cent's In Da Club and Stayin' Alive by the BeeGees. This will be a great song to play, although I had to record certain parts of the song and will edit them together to shorten it for my purposes.
I am amazed at how artists are able to put together these mash-ups. I know music is inherently mathematical and described by equations, so it makes sense that certain songs will line up even if they are from completely different genres. I would be curious to know more about the process of creating a remix like this one. Are there applications or tools that make it easier to identify which songs would go together? How much of the process is driven by technology vs the ear and experience of the remix artist?

If you don't get it then you might need to use an app that does it by math lol.
I used to want to be a DJ, a rapper, a dancer and fitness instructor -- all around music back when I was still dreaming without limits.
