Today I spent 40 minutes driving to WeWork and another 25 minutes looking for a parking spot. I then needed 30 minutes to unwind and be in the state of mind to do work.
My first thoughts were that things are going back to normal - pre-COVID normal. There were lots more people at the WeWork than usual. It appears that WeWork is ramping up their marketing to get people back. And that is creating a competition for parking in the area.
I haven't gotten used to the 40 minute commute yet. I tried looking for a closer venue and none were available. The one I go to now is smack in the middle of DC. So I know that things will only get worse with time. Both Uber and parking lots make this location unfeasible financially.
So I need to think about next steps. I will try to come to WeWork at different times of the day to see if things improve. Or I may look for another brand that offers a better solution in terms of price, location and parking. I don't want to lose the productivity I was able to lean on in July. But I also need to be practicle.
I have considered cafes but since WeWork, they don't do it for me anymore. I just may get a dedicated office space. Something that can duplicate the feel of WeWork minus the constraints.
