Before I forged a solid writing habit I took myself too serious.
I walked around with this pressure, a ticking time bomb. I needed to finish something meaningful, and I needed to do it soon.
My reason for wanting to write was grandiose and ego driven. I could only pull myself to actually type or ink a few words only when I felt especially motivated or inspired.
One main difference I've noticed is that before the habit I could only write when I was motivated, inspired or had struck some new level of clarity. These days I can go write something on the sloggiest of days. And I'll come out of that session feeling more motivated. More inspired. And with more clarity.
