My recent obsessions Aaron Levie Taylor Otwell Laravel PHP Michael Jordan cloud computing era Arkansas

Here's a list of my recent obsessions. Recent meaning in the past week or so

1.
Aaron Levie
being the
Michael Jordan
founder of the
cloud computing era

2. People are shortsighted in their desires. They think they want something right away, like to be a designer/programmer/founder right away. But I was thinking about the story of
Taylor Otwell
-- founder of
Laravel
-- and how his grandfather and his work ethic inspired Taylor to be the kind of developer he ended up being. That grandfather in the middle of
Arkansas
could never have imagined "I want to inspire my grandson to build a very developer friendly
PHP
framework and have over 100K Twitter followers." Such a thought is absurd. And still we live hoping for short sighted things like -- I want to be X,Y,Z thing. If we live a truthful life, seeing with clear spirit where our desires stem, we will impact the world in ways we can't imagine. Quit thinking you want what Instagram/Youtube/FooPlatform is selling you that year.
3. Value based offers vs job based ones. If you're learning how to be a painter, you'll do better by selling some value/outcome than saying, you can paint, let me paint for you. You'll get a job in the latter way but the offer will be weaker.
1. I guess I should figure out who Aaron Levie is because I've never heard of him. The Michael Jordan name-drop got me in, but I have no context for the comparison.
2. I agree, and I don't consider any content/social media platform in the planning of what I create, Gary Vee be damned. By the way, this sums up my view of Gary Vee quite nicely: https://www.tiktok.com/@aj_comedy/video/7052501355847650606
3. Agree as many people don't know the value they're looking for.

Not at all. Data either move through standard EDI transactions or SFTP usually.
