Get a pet.

Yeah, the cool thing about living alone is being able to decorate how you want and not worrying about anyone eating your stuff. But without a home routine that forces you to explore your neighborhood more -- or drive places to escape, especially at first -- it can be pretty alienating.

You do get used to it, though. And sometimes, you have to adapt the tactics you use as time goes on. But also, there's ways to break through that by inviting folks over...

means that the problem is still a problem, but it prevents another problem that is perhaps 'worse'
