This is very good.
On your left...
The paragraph that begins with This year also, I decided I'm not going to continue as a coder, professionally is probably the best paragraph i've read of yours so far.
Also really interesting note about your relationship with your previous church. i know exactly what you mean. Sometimes you need separation from a good thing, especially because it's a good thing.
often the seperation brings this peace you speak of.

The frame of reference
I thought you were about to blow my mind by using the same frame of reference idea but set to what we consider 'real life'.

Shit! The anti Butch and Wallace scene from !!
This line was really good: I felt a chemical drunkness, something in his eyes scared the shit out of me,
Simple but well placed to elicit an affect.
And then when I thought Tim was screwed, it was great to have Don show up in that manner.
and even greater that for a moment you made me believe that Don knew what was happening and that he would save the day.
And then even greater! when it turned out he was just a drunk idiot too and now both Tim and Don are going to be fucked. wow.

Agency Dilemma
Can't say exactly why. Something about the way it's phrased... maybe because I know your voice and this seems especially more like your voice than your average post.
Anyways I hope to read your content in the future that expands on this because I feel like this seems like a very Will concept

The title had me expecting something completely different. I usually see the concept of used in a context where someone has control over their decisions and situation. It's interesting to see it used in this situation, juxtaposed to principal.
I also thought your take on this was one of the best I've read. Usually the people talking about this experiment don't make me feel things. It's just obvious clear, cut evidence for how power/authority can go wrong.
But while reading your post I actually felt new things. Questioned new things really close to the real world rather than just historic examples of the experiment itself and the historically distant .
This section especially affected me:
Despite the experiment seeming ethically questionable, in the minds of most participants the consequences of the study fell on the shoulders of the experimenters and therefore wasn’t their problem.

They were just following orders. They were perfect agents. There was no agency dilemma.

There's too much in here that there's really nothing to say in a comment besides thanks for writing it and sharing.
Also one comment is that you are more of a fiction writer than you might see yourself as. I don't mean that to say this is fake/unreal but rather that fiction is more real than the schoolteacher's definition lends it.
