When Alan awoke he could tell by the sound and air that he was alone. His mom was probably at her dance class. But Jack? He had no clue. Alan didn't think Jack would leave without saying goodbye. thus Alan could only assume that Jack went outside for a walk to kill time until his host woke up.

Alan was waking later and later. Soon he would be sleeping in until noon. But that would all change when he went back to 

Westcity

. He told himself this. As the words left his mouth he felt it hard to believe.

"I'll fix my sleep once I'm back. Back in Westcity."

He almost used the word home. But was scared to. He might not be in Westcity come summer.

Using all his willpower, he jumped out of bed and headed into the bathroom. Peed. Brushed his teeth. And listened for anyone else in the house. Nobody.

He went down to the living room still in PJs. Chugged two mugs of water and then started the kettle for tea. His mind stuck on

. He would see her later today. When the people from last night's party met at Larry's 

diner

. But what Alan really wanted was to meet with her alone. All of these people being in town. especially Aaron, was getting in his way. He only had two days left. Couldn't they all just leave?

Jack? He was tolerable. He didn't mind Jack. But Aaron. He wished he would just fly back to New York and get his job back at the restaurant.

Footsteps approached outside. Then the sound of the screen door opening.
