Ashley was still out in Chicago. When they spoke, Imogen would be confused as to whether Ashley would be back for the
new year
party. Sometimes Ashley would make it sound like she was definitely coming back. Sometimes she made it sound like she was trying to get Imogen to come out to
Chicago
for new years instead.
Because she was the host of the party, Imogen knew she wouldn't go to Chicago. That decision had already been made. It irritated her that Ashley would allude to the possibility. Imogen would be staying put in
town
. No quesiton there. Whether Ashley came or not... that was out of her hands.
She did wish her friend would come back though. It would make the party more fun. Or at least more light. Thinking about hosting the party without her best friend made the event feel a bit like a chore.
The thing that might make up for it would be the boys. It was nice having them all in town again. She wished that they had been around tonight. But they had gone all the way up to
Westcity
for a boys night.
