There were cars now that could get over 40 miles per gallon. Not hybrids. Just pure gas burning cars. Full sized ones too. The world was changing so fast. It blew
Imogen Howe
's mind.
Back when she was a kid, 30 miles per gallon was considered a lot. And that was a on a tiny car.
As she drove she wondered what this trip would be like if she drove a
Toyota
Prius
. How far she could go without stopping for gas. Those things got over 50 miles per gallons she thought.
She wondered what the world would be like if they made
gas
cars so efficient that they got over 80 miles per gallon. Would there have been the same push for
electric vehicle
s? Or would people have been content driving regular cars?
She thought about this. And then she realized she had to stop for gas soon. This would slow her down. But she wasn't going anywhere. And she actually kind of liked stopping at gas stations.
