Sometimes he tried to talk to him, but the guy didn't want to talk. At first he thought it was a video game, weird one meant to freak him out. Maybe it was part of the assignment he thought.
"Paging weirdo he played into the intercom."
He could tell the guy heard him because he'd move. The Infrared camera could showed him. He didn't tell the guy that.
Now he had grown attached to the guy. He knew nothing bad would happen. He could press a button and food would be there in less than a minute
Big Joe
said. It was his job to make sure he just drank enough.
"Like a Chia Pet?"
"Uh, yeah I guess so yeah."
He pressed a button and all the lights went on. He needed to do that every 12 hours or so.
"For his whole circadian rhythm thing." Big Joe said.
"Oh cool."
Now Dave wasn't sure what he was doing he felt protective over this guy though. Didn't want him to get hurt so he just kept watching.
"Until Big Joe tells me to stop." He said to no one.
