Jack was lost. It'd been months. He should've had his book out by now.

Instead he had run from California. Nobody online knew where he was.

Jack didn't dare drive to the town she lived in. It was super small. He'd be spotted. She might catch news of him being there. Being 30 minutes away was good enough for him.

She was who he spent most time thinking about. He'd walk to a cafe nearby his long term

and sit with a coffee and think. He never had plans. The whole day was open. And he really did do nothing but sit there and think. Thought a lot about Imogen.

Thinking about her naturally led to memories of Jack and Aaron. That one winter when they all came back to town at the same time unplanned. That was probably the last time Jack felt alive.

He had run away from California back then as well. Probably why he had come back to Westcity this time around.

It was the closest he could be to that winter break... without actually being back. Close enough to feel near it again, but not trick himself into trying to re live it.
