Jack was reading a business book. His one friend said it was more of a self help. He was writing lines he liked from the book. Recording what he wanted to remember. All the people. He had a thought, fleeting but he wrote it down. Now he was mulling it over.
"What's worse than losing?"
He thought about in high school he lost a lot. Then as Jack Attack! He always was winning. Now he's back to his high school self, a loser.
"Winning, but knowing the other person threw the game."
Thats worse Jack thought. Fuck that would suck.
He looked out at the guy that only gets delivery. He felt that way about him. He was letting Jack win. So much of his day was on display. It was too easy. But one thing Jack couldn't get out of his mind what the guy was watching. The screen didn't flicker like a normal TV too high def. Something weird, like the color was the same but the brightness, weird.
"The best thing to do on game day."
Jack wrote down in his journal.
"Take a nap."
He nodded.
"Sometimes the best way to clear the water is let the mud settle."
