"What do you think that was about?" Blake was less curious about the two guys who had gotten into a scuffle. More interested in seeing how Imogen responded. To see what her relationship with the guy from the hotel was like.
"I don't know." her hand was closer to her purse now. Where the gun was. "I don't think I want to know either."
"mm." Blake said. She didn't respond though. She made it sound like they were no good. Dangerous or something?
He couldn't ask outright so instead he took a drink of his whiskey. Did that several more times quickly until the glass was empty. Ordered another. This time at triple rather than a double.
The guy from the hotel never came to talk to them. The clean shaven young guy went out with him. Damn, Blake thought. He was really curious now. What the hell was that all about? It wasn't like the tall guy had gotten into a real fight with the guy from the hotel. But they were obviously arguing over something. He had broken the glass. Usually when people got that riled up there would be a fist flying. Now that Blake was thinking it through, it was strange that nobody got punched.
"What are you thinking about?"
"The argument. From before."
"You're still on that?"
"The guy who broke his glass. He looked so pissed. I swear i've never seen someone look that pissed not punch a guy."
made face that she was obviously uninterested in this. Bored.
"I think I'm going to head back."
Blake wanted to ask if she wanted him to come with but he already knew the answer.
"Okay. I'll hang out here."
After she left he sat there thinking about it all. He couldn't stop thinking about the guy from the hotel and the tall guy who had broken the glass and stormed out. What was it all about? He no longer cared about Imogen. They hadn't even made plans for when to see each other next. For all he knew she might leave the hotel the next morning and he might never see her again.
That'd be fine by him if he could find out what those two guys had been arguing about before. The bartender walked up to him. "Psh."
Blake looked up.
"You wanna know more about the guy from before?"
Blake nodded slow.
"You want to look up Danny Calruso. A bit of a local legend. You'll be able to find info online."
The bartender then disappeared as quietly as you appeared in front of him.
