The man took a deep sigh and walked into his room. He was finally here. After weeks of listening to that awful but catchy tune on the radio while seated at a gas station out in the middle of nowhere. He had come to the source of the sound. By the sea.

His uncle Chip would be proud of him. He knew this. Even though he abandoned the gas station, taking some alone time to come out here would be exactly what chip would've told him to do. God he missed Chip. He missed having a regular life.

When was the last time his life felt normal? High school. Before everybody either left for college, the military, or ended up sticking around town with no prospects. After graduation he had ended up in the third category. didn't know it until about three years in though. When the kids at college began talking about getting their degrees in big city jobs. That's when Steve examined his life a bit more closely. Saw what an embarrassment it was. Teaching fitness classes to bored women.

Working the gas station wasn't any better status wise. But he was at least far from anybody he knew back home. And now he had come even further. All the way to the edge of this country. He didn't know how long he would stay. All he knew was that he needed some rest and relaxation. He sat down on the bed and took a sigh. Through the wall he hard a distrubance. Like people struggling.
