He didn't like having to use batteries or having to charge something. He preferred connecting things to the wall. His phone, he had to tolerate charging because the phone he kept in his pocket. But with everything else he preferred a wire. Even his laptop... if he wasn't out and about, he would use it plugged into the wall.
That was how he was right then. Tethered to the wall while sitting on the couch. The coconut oil hadn't melted yet. But Jack would need to adjust the thermostat soon. at this rate eventually the coconut oill would go from solid to liquid-ish. He really should get off the couch now and change the thermostat but he was comfortable. His roommate might come back at any time though. He worried. Not just about the coconut oil melting but also being stuck here when his roommate did come back.
Jack thought he would get out of the apartment and go grab some food. Then he would have some time to himself still. He still had to process what had happened the night before. Even the two hour drive wasn't enough for him to completely debrief himself.
