The phone continued to charge. He continued to fall deeper and deeper into sleep. He had a dream where he never woke up. And the phone became so charged that it overheated until it caught on fire. His apartment started to burn. He wanted to move, to get out of bed but couldn't. He couldn't even open his eyelids to see what was happening. Just felt the heat spreading as he desperately tried to move his muscles to leap out of bed.

fuck he wasn't even on the bed. He had fell asleep on the couch. Sometimes it was just more comfortable to pass out there. Sometimes if he did get himself up off the couch and walked over to the bed, he wouldn't be able to fall back ssleep. So if he felt himself dozing off on the couch a lot of times he'd stay there.

But in this dream the tip of the couch was now catching fire. And he was still trying to wiggle his leg up. He could finally start to feel his toe move. But it was so painful. Not the fire. The fire hadn't reached him yet. The pain was the sensation of being able to move.
