Pete wished Spacecity

as reply to To Move

The only place he didn't mind fluorescent lights was up in
Spacecity
. Maybe it was because it was so dark up in space that he didn't mind the bright white lights. On earth with the bright light reflecting off the earth he didn't see why anyone would ever use these.

Fuck them he thought. He took a breath. Stared into his ceiling. He had felt better when out on that bench looking at the leaves on the trees.

Now he was angry again. Everything annoyed him. The sound of the neighbors. The noise of music in cars driving by in the parking lot.

He could see why people did mass shootings. Sometimes this world just never gave you an outlet. Toxic masculinity they would call it. They kept telling him and men like him that everything that was bad with the world was their fault.

Pete cracked open another tall boy. Well to hell with them, he yelled, not sure really at what. He was staring at his wall now. It was an ugly white, like a church out in the country that had just gotten a fresh coat of paint that was too bright.

He had no plans that day. He wished he had some.
