Maybe thats why he didn't stay in the small town. He was always thinking about something off in the distance. A sort of space that doesn't exist. The news from somewhere else filled his time, and talking to people online made it feel like a real place. Maybe he didn't like all the blemishes, or sharp edges the real life of a town came with. The sadness, that people will always stay the same even when they really need to change.
College in someways gave him too many options, and now there was no way he could take the safe one. Like his dad or something. He'd have to do something different. To sort of make it mean something.
Jack's made him feel sort of down after awhile. He'd still go to the coffee shop next door during the day though, but to Jack's less and less.
