His Uncle had told him last time there were together, that people weren't bored anymore.
"You all, you're really not bored anymore." His uncle said.
"Like look around, phone phone tv phone. Can't you just stare into space. Can't you just do something else?"
He looked around the bar, they had started coming here to talk about the case, but it morphed into something of a routine, and so they stuck with it.
"I guess so."
"Where do you think it all goes?"
"What?"
"The boredom, like the energy. Where does it all go." He asked.
His Uncle was getting more animated.
"Like in my day when someone was bored, they'd build something. Like my brother, not your dad, but our other brother, he'd built a whole play ground. Not because that was his job, but he was sort of bored like, you don't really see that now, we lose something without it I think. It goes somewhere else."
He wasn't sure what his uncle was talking about but he felt like it was true. He wasn't sure though where this energy went, but when he looked around it felt like something was lost.
