Alone

Quan, he can’t remember where they met, but he thinks it was at an orientation. Not that they were going to work together or they didn’t know they would they were just paired together. In a group activity they clicked. Not that that meant anything for friendship but they were drawn together. They laughed at similar things. He introduced him to other people. The friends Quan had known. All different people than any of the people he’d normally hang out with. In honesty the first few years of undergrad didn’t lead to any long term friends. One guy who they’d message for their birthdays. Al though even that was two or three years ago. Now he just sometimes wonders what Nathan would be up to. Or Chris or Meghan. People he lived with for a whole year he never even messaged. Funny how some people just don’t connect. Like water and oil. Other people were just like water? Or maybe tea something better out of the mixture than what’s alone.
