MX-5 is always the answer

In North America, the Mazda MX-5 is also known as the Miata. When the MX-5 was launched, North American consumers were more accustomed to cars with a “proper name”, so the Miata moniker was added. It became known as the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Over the years, Mazda has tried to drop the name, but the name just stuck. Though the name Miata no longer appears anywhere on the car, North American customers still know it is fondling as the Miata.

As an acronym, Miata stands for "MX-5 is always the answer", and for me, that is certainly the case. The Mazda MX-5 has become my roadster of choice, as a track car, road car and daily driver. No other car on the market can match the MX-5 for "bang for your buck" driving.

The Mazda MX-5 is affordable, especially the earlier generations. Although they are getting long in the tooth, it still represents one of the best value-for-money sports car buys. Despite some of the earliest examples being more than 30 years old, the Mazda MX-5 is known to be durable and reliable.

The Mazda MX-5 has been universally praised since its inception as one of the most fun cars to drive. Although not particularly powerful in standard form, the handling, eagerness, and “connectedness” with the road make the MX-5 one of the best driver’s cars.

Throw in a sense of community that comes with joining a club, you can be assured about sharing your passion with like-minded people.

In the end, the unique combination of fun, affordability, reliability and community make it a popular choice for buyers old and young.
Now THAT is a piece of trivia I did not know about the Miata.

I think everyone instinctively has to like the Miata. It even "looks" fun. Maybe its only real downside was that it wasn't ever seen as a 'serious' enough roadster and its lack of toothiness turned it into a gay icon, but shit, nobody can deny that if you ever have to pick between a Fiat or an MX-5 for a drive on the Amalfi coast, the MX-5 is always the answer. (That's an awesome acronym)

Not unless the Fiat is the latest 124 Spider, an MX-5 in an Italian suit.

Ha, true. I didn't know it but honestly just looks like a Miata. I was thinking more like the Punto, or worse, the hideous Multipla.
