Once Brandon asked me something along the lines of "where has the magic of 200 words a day gone?"
I didn't have a good answer for either Brandon or myself at the time, and I confess I still don't have a good answer for him today, but now I've got one for myself.
A consistent writing habit one of the toughest things to maintain. It seems like it's almost impossible to do it unless you do it everyday. Unlike something like or writing seems to be something that you can't just do two to four times a week. For most people it's an everyday thing or a GTFO thing.
So where has the magic of gone? I see it everywhere. Maybe someone like or writing everyday doesn't feel magical since they've already proven themselves. But people like writing everyday for nearly half a year now. writing for over three weeks straight after such a long hiatus, and also coming back with more style and substance at that. crawling back from out of her previous health troubles to now cement a daily habit that's 76 days strong. And all the rest of the old writers who still write daily either on or . That's magical to me.
Who knows? Maybe 's most recent return will be a more permanent one. And he and I will write some very bad, but completed, fiction.

I'm not saying that this should be like 200WAD at all, but I do think they're different and, like you said, it's another type of magic.
As for betting on any kind of streak for me, hope you got money to burn.
I say consistent habit rather than streak because not everyone actually streaks.
