When I was sacked last year. One of the silent resolutions I made was, any organisation I work for next, I'm gonna be the one putting fire under them, not the other way round.
Over the weekend I was looking up what I could to boost my CV profile. I want to remain in tech, yet in the intersection of business and tech. The option I could find was to get an MBA.
The thought sounded good. Having an MBA would move me kind of close to the C-suite, or a mid-level manager at least. The challenge is, an MBA is quite expensive for me right now. So what do I do?
While browsing, I came across these guys International Business Management Institute. They seem serious and focused. Their Mini-MBA Certificate caught my attention. Six courses for $14.99 each. I could save up $89.94 in two months and if I submit such a certificate to my startup, they should get the signal that I'm not here to play (haha).
I've taken a first-course - Essential Management Skills. I love it, I learnt a whole lot of actionable skills I can transfer immediately into my daily work and also my career. I've bought a second - Marketing and Communications.
It's not the main goal, but it achieves one of my aims which is to make the company feel the heat of my ambition. I'm excited.

Another option is LinkedIn courses. I believe they give you a one month free trial during which you can take a bunch of classes including PMP, Lean Six Sigma and communication related. They will also give you certificates that you can add to your resume.
Keep pushing.
Thanks, Abe.
