Having a clear goal opened my eyes to opportunities everywhere.
I remember when I first set out to do somethings for Oct 3rd. One of them was writing related. Everyday since making my Oct 3rd goal, I would stare at the list of things I planned. Beyond writing daily, I wasn't sure what else I could do to take my writing up a notch.
Then magically, Brandon sends me a text for the Medium Writing Challenge. And I said to myself, this is what the Universe wants me to do to up my writing game. I smiled and got busy. I don't remember how I ended up with Masterclass.com but I saw it and knew I needed it. I found Malcom Gladwell and few great writers sharing their secrets. It was just what I needed since I have no formal training as a writer. The writing challenge competition deadline pushed me to do a lot in a few weeks to improve. Then I wrote my piece and published it with the hope that something will come out of it.
Reading a few Medium posts, which I now do daily, made me realize the importance of teams. I also read a book on blinkist talking about the power of more than 1 person for ideas and problem solving. That made me decide to build a team to work on the different plans for Oct 3rd. As I pushed on with that goal, I reached out to 4 people from my past. I had worked with them and liked their work ethic. The 4 people belong to Bangladesh, Cameroon, Ethiopia and Ukraine. I love the diversity and intend to continue to add it to the team.
As I began to talk to the folks, I started to feel like I need to have a game plan about working with a diverse group. The thought was in my head no more than 24 hours when I got an email from Masterclass.com. There was a brand new instructor teaching leadership. The name and blurb of his class?
