Rooibos rooibos college coffee beer Europe

They bonded over
rooibos
tea. In
college
it would've been late night
coffee
or
beer
, but by this time, they were more responsible. So uncaffeinated rooibos it was.

The sun set early in that time they first met: transition into late autumn. Even though the days would become shorter in the frost of winter, they felt shortest during the transition. That was when you sometimes glanced at your phone wondering what the time was, amazed how in just half an hour the world went from twilight to black.

He remembered evenings in candles and cloth tabletops. Thinking about it now, he was reminded of
Europe
though they had of course met in the states. From day one they were outsiders in that small college town though. The places they frequented, their own little enclaves, acting as personal embassies to a different world for them. Far from Saturday morning tailgates and billboard topping basslines.

They got to find each other huddled between stone walls, stepping across cobblestone, and full moons shining down through rustic windows onto pots of rooibos tea.
I can't say if i've ever tried rooibos but seeing the word crop up often enough is making me want to try it.

that second paragraph was an acute moment i realized last night. looking through window next to my computer, it was 745pm and the moon was clearly white afront a pitch black night.

i want my summer back!
