Even if we don't think we are, most of us live lives trying to impress virtual imaginations of how famous people would think about us.
How much time have we spent trying to mold ourselves into someone who would impress some famous designer? Or a CEO we admire? We watch interviews on and listen to podcasts thinking we are educating ourselves but I think for the most part we are doing this imagining.
How much energy and thoughtful focus could we have given to molding ourselves into someone that impresses and illuminates how the people in our lives see us? I mean the real people in our lives. Family and friends who've known us a long time?
How many days have I wasted trying to become someone who I think would impress people on Twitter while neglecting my day ones? I don't think it would even be wise to count in days but rather years. No. Decades.
