I am a competition junkie. When I look at all my favorite reality tv shows, they are all around competition of some sort. The latest on is chopped. A cooking competition show. I have been watching the show for the last few months.
I don't remember what got me started. But I love it. I have learnt so much since I started. My curiosity to try different things is going higher every time I see a new episode. One reason I love the show is the creativity part. The concept of the show is testing 4 chefs with secret ingredients to see whose dish is the best. There are 3 rounds - appetizer, entrée and dessert. No one who is in the competition knows what is in the basket with the ingredients. I find that exciting. That to me is the test of a real chef. What can you do with a given circumstance. Following a recipe to make something isn't exciting for me. Cooking is all about creativity.
I used to think that I can cook. Watching the show has made me realize just how far off I was from my perception. The way the chefs talk about texture, acid, techniques and spices, there is so much for me to learn.
As I get comfortable on the couch for a lazy afternoon, my choice is always a cooking show. I want to learn more and catch up on all the things that I didn't know existed before. If I had the time and money, going to a culinary school may be ideal. I have always wanted to have a small cafe. For now, I am experimenting with making new things about once a week or so. It is fun and I am learning a lot. Who know what type of adventure cooking may bring in the future.

Who knows maybe we can have it so
For some reason I thought you were into cooking. I remember you commenting that you would rather cook than clean on
