Blinkist and a general Update

Dave Asprey Isaac Asimov Austria blood sugar level alcohol Writing Blinkist 5amClub diary
Although I'm normally on the path to reducing monthly payments, I recently had a look at Blinkist (https://www.blinkist.com/). I noticed that I've been reading way too little in the last few weeks.

They've got a seven-day trial, so no money was "wasted" yet, but I'll admit I find their summaries pretty...

She couldn't handle whiskey either. Or any liquor for that matter. She chose not to drink beer or wine because she didn't enjoy the taste. But probably she couldn't handle  alcohol at that amount either. Ten, twenty years ago not drinking made it difficult to make friends. These days it...

Had the first chilly day here that reminded me of
autumn
this week as well. Was feeling cold while in my T-shirt while sitting out back.

Funny how 'generally knowing' how bad

I say temporarily because few quit for good.

Doug Stamper is one of my favorite characters. Quiet like a shadow, but a presence that's felt by those who know him.

I remember the first time I watched  House of Cards wondering who this quiet bald man with an intense stare was. Why was he always getting himself into these...

Not only because of COVID but because of all the social implications that it brought.

The past two and a half years has finally taught me that I don't like alcohol it self that much.

Drinking Alone

alcohol
I’m in Italy right now. One of the most noticeable things besides the different language and everyone is tan, is how people drink.

It’s never really just drinking on its own, there has to be food involved or friends. You don’t go to the bar just to have a pint....
Music
No i still agree.

Music is invigorating. i'll be out and about. Meeting new people. and then we enter a place with music and the lights streamed abovehead. my new friend asks me what i drink so he can buy it for me.

and i just feel like the energy and power is flowing through me.

i don't deliberately seek new music and attach the songs to artists' names and song names lke i used to as a high schooler. but i'm still in awe of music.

it's the same as
alcohol
. i don't drink it everyday or even everyweek like i used to, trying to find new ones. I know which ones i like and i drink them rarely. but damn i love it.

Did you find out whether he ended up okay that night?

alcohol
is really tough though. So embedded into culture and society that we aren't going to let it go. And at the same time so much damn fun!

but also, so costly and detrimental to individuals and society at large.

It's unfortunate that civilization was built so socially upon such a drug.
