feast for two coffee beer credit cards Ethiopian

as reply to Some Coffee

Jimmy took a sip of the
coffee
with his yes closed. Mid grade. Decent. not good. Not bad.

He kept his eyes closed and took another long sip. Then he opened them and saw the branding on it. It was his favorite cafe. Suddenly the coffee tasted better.

"you got any plans today, Dick?"

"Not shit."

"You know what I'm craving?"

"Ethiopian."

"how the fuck did you know?"

"I think we've been living together too long."

"It's been barely two weeks now."

"I think it's the fact that we've spent two weekends in a row."

"Ah yeah. The weekends. It has been two weekends now hasn't it. You know I always wished we went to the same school. Back when I was stuck at my shitty no name of a school. Surrounded by a bunch of chodes who didn't do anything fun. I would bounce a tennis ball against the wall catching it. Counting. Counting until I'd forget the number. Then I'd start counting again. I'd do that hoping someone would text me to just ask how I'm doing. The whole time I'd also be thinking. How nice would it be if Dick and I were roommates."

At the Ethiopian restaurant they ordered a feast for two. A platter featuring veggies, meats, pulses and salads. They drunk both spiced tea and black coffee. Jimmy's eyes would wander over to where the
beer
taps were. How early would the two of them start drinking today, Dick wondered. If they had been 21 then they would probably have had a beer as well with the meal.

The bill would be high. But since the place accepted
credit cards
, Jimmy would put it on his parents'. Or at least this is what Dick thought until the bill arrived.

"Yo remember? My parents still think I'm at school. I can't be using my card here. Do you got enough to cover this?"

Dick looked at the total. Calculated a decent tip. He had barely enough. But maybe that didn't matter because Jimmy would hit him with some cash later.

Before they left they saw a girl who looked
Ethiopian
. Dick had seen her here before. He thought she was a family member of the owner. They'd seen each other enough that they would meet eyes and smile at each other. She had never waited his table though.
