entering sparrow's cafe The Shins

as reply to Just like Her

Marc Love didn't use GPS. He knew because she knew. It wasn't that she was guiding him, but he could feel her knowledge. Her feelings. The cafe he arrived at two hours later was somehow connected to her. She had wanted to go there. Love wondered why she had wanted to go there though. There must be some history...

He still didn't know her name. Knew her only as the girl driving west. Although... she wasn't just a girl. Older. but calling her a woman made her feel older than she was. Love shuffled through his memory. Tried to remember whether they had met before. He couldn't see her face, but he could feel what it felt like to face her. Kind of like when someone was standing in front of you while you had your eyes closed.

It was hard to explain. Thankfully he had nobody to explain to. The thoughts swam around in his head as he sat in the car looking at the cafe. Sparrow's cafe. It looked like a cozy place. The kind of place he'd go to for a few days when he bunkered down in small towns.

Finally he stepped out of the car. He had been craving coffee for a while after all. Why hadn't he gotten out earlier?

There was some anxiety. That was the reason. He had been feeling it ever since arriving. It was coming from her. Out there. She felt it. But Love didn't know why she was feeling this anxiety.

His heart felt heavy. The breaths short. He walked into
The Shins
playing on the speakers. A bell dinged as the door opened. The air was warmer than outside.
