no worry that evening. Imogen Howe

as reply to Cared a Lot

Her name was McKayla. She was somewhat like the girl out west. In fact these two had once been close.  Love sipped his cortado with cinnamon. The two of them maybe even lived together. He could feel them spending evenings together in their pajamas. Locked away from the world. Some crummy apartment. The kind you wouldn't want to live in as an older person, but perfectly fine while young.

McKayla missed the girl out west. But the girl out west hadn't thought of McKayla in a long time. Marc Love now sat there feeling both sides. He was now connecting with more than one person. Two. This was a new experience.

With each passing second he felt their relationship. How the two of them were seen as up and coming baristas in town. How the girl out west, who's name was
Imogen Howe
, had pushed the cafe to go above and beyond. Go to the big cities and learn how they did things. McKayla had never had a job that she treated serious before this. They were always just a way to get a paycheck. But Imogen showed her a new way.

Now Marc Love knew the girl out west's name. He heard McKayla say it in a memory. At night. The two of them with wet hair after showering. Towels over their head. Imogen baked some cookies while McKayla went to shower after her.

They put a scary movie on. Drank tea and didn't have a worry in the world for that one evening.
