It was slow enough now that Imogen could take a break from the counter. She sat down across from McKayla. Neither spoke of what had McKayala feeling down. Imogen thought about discussing something else in order to distract her friend, but that felt like it would go no where. Would feel fake. Instead the two sat there in silence. Once in awhile looking into each other.

The entire time all Imogen could think was 'some asshole ditched my best friend.'

this thought would be quickly followed by 'kind of like how i ditched her'

and then 'i feel like this guy isn't just some asshole. i feel like i know him.'

It was strange because McKayla hadn't even told Imogen this guy's name. Hadn't even described him. Had only told Imogen how he had come into Sparrow's and how the two of them began seeing each other. And finally how he had vanished.
