Opening the youtube homepage I saw two videos that peaked my attention: first - "Peter Thiel investing in the preservation of rare butterflies" and second - "Window cleaner dies collecting rare butterflies". A strange algorithm, I thought and so I cmd+click'ed on the second one, more out of curiosity to see who was the now-defunct butterfly collector. It was one of those cheap media reporting videos that you'd rather watch for the thrill and rarely for facts. It showed a 50 story building 2 streets north of where I was working. I walked past that building every day and the sight of it, for no particular reason, felt reassuring. I kept on watching and saw a pixelated photo of the window cleaner who died while cleaning the windows of the 48'th floor where apparently there was an ongoing corporation meeting of 30 so employees of, "an important data company" - as the reporter put it. He proceeded with interviewing an exec who took part at the meeting and, at the time of the unfortunate accident was looking over the window and, saw it all happening: "I saw the cleaning man just doing his job, cleaning windows one after another, spraying cleaning moose over the entire surface of the window then using his squeegee to swiftly remove it. It left the window sparkling clean, I was watching him for about one hour I think as he was doing the round of our floor when, all of a sudden, I see him outstretching to catch something, two windows on his left. He did an unusually extended jump and then he fell off. He just disappeared while the cord he was attached on was swaying alone in the air."
"Did you alert anyone about what you saw? " - the host asked. "Initially I could not speak, I couldn't believe what I saw, so I walked out of the meeting and drank a coffee, then I returned and seeing the cord still swaying in the air I told Peter, who was standing right next to me - <Hey, the window cleaner died>" The reportage went on showing a picture of the man smashed on the asphalt. He strikingly resembled the man with the drenched tan t-shirt that I just saw at Whole Foods a few moments ago. Hmm, strange! How could that be possible? I opened google and searched for window cleaner accident 48'th floor, 26'th avenue. It was real, I searched for more info about the building and it was the headquarters of Palantir Technologies, owned by Peter Thiel. Weeeeird. And so I clicked the other Youtube link, thinking I am onto something now.
I should be using $post->displayTitle rather than $post->title... the former handles formatting untitled posts into something human readable.
good designer eye!

Probably what we all feel like after a couple of laps browsing crazyshit.com.
But yeah, Abe, you got that right, perfect observational bit of dialogue.
