And, not Or web 3.0 web3 Twitter Facebook web 2.0

The promise of
web 3.0
or
web3
is cool. Basically it argues for a shift in the way our digital infrastructure is organized so that not only the investors/founders/creators have equity and profit from that infrastructure but also the users.

There's great power in the idea of feeling like a user who is also an owner. They often will use persuasive arguments like, what if, you owned a part of
Twitter
or
Facebook
instead of just being a content creator for them?

But I thought while walking around yesterday that although that's a very empowering sentiment there's a level of peace with just logging onto a
web 2.0
platform and just spewing content out there with no thoughts or ideas of having to own anything.

I see it being an and thing rather than a or. Some systems just work better if they aren't owned by any centralized organizations. And some just do require some central force.

Very grateful to witness what is happening. But also got to remember that web3 is not some religious messiah.
