When I enter the she won't recognize me right away. We've both changed a lot.
In fact I wouldn't recognize her either except for the fact that the in a cafe is always on display like a flower.
She will recognize me eventually though. I'll go when she's doing something in the back and a more junior barista is taking orders.
It will only be later when she leaves the kitchen and walks across the main area where all the people are sitting with their drinks, their laptops, their books, their conversations that she'll spot me from the corner of her eyes.
If I happen to make eye contact that's all that will be required. She'll know it's me right then. But if I'm looking into my book, which happened to be at that time , then she will do a double take and wonder whether it's me or not.
I imagine that I'll be able to feel her eyes on the side of my head. That's where I always feel it. The side and top, even though the place where people usually look at you is your face so I should feel it on my nose and forehead and cheeks.
I'll stay there long enough so that if she wants to say hi then she can. I'll stay long enough so that if she doesn't get to do that then she can reach out to me afterwards on . But I won't be the first to say hi.
