She woke up that day from a nightmare. One that once she really got up she was fine, but during she remembered how bad she felt.
During that time of school everyone had a place to be, people would come in wearing shirts of the colleges they got into. While she just kept getting rejections.
"There were a substantial number of of high quality applicants this year and we regret to inform you..."
Five different schools, all said no. Even her safety schools said no. She remembers that day one of her friends was talking to her complaining.
"I didn't get into
MSU
, can you believe it? That was like everyone's safety schools."
"Well did you get in anywhere?"
"Yeah CMU but like who wants to go there you know. This is the worst."
Then the girl cried.
Imogen Howe
wanted to cry then as well, but she just said.
"There's always next year, don't worry, maybe you can transfer in you know. I wouldn't... Don't worry too much."
Imogen did worry what it meant for her. Who she was because of it.
She remembers working late, thinking at least I'll get a good paycheck this month.
