Heat streak desire Heat bedtime

Broke my
streak
this week because one evening I began watching the film
Heat
, which
therealbrandonwilson
once vouched for. I wasn't expecting such a long movie. I only got halfway through and it was my
bedtime
. The second half would need to wait until the next day.

I thought of writing something quick before going to sleep like I usually would. However, the attributes of the film was so foregrounded that I didn't want to destroy that in favor of writing something. Now that I write this I could've simply wrote about the movie, but I didn't feel compelled to do that either.

It's rare that I watch something at this age where it consumes me. So in this case I just let it do that. Also I knew I would just write the next day so missing one day didn't matter.

So what makes Heat so great? It's an action film. I usually don't like action films. I don't think watching people blowing each other up and chasing the big score not to be a captivating watch. But what made me like Heat so much was that the action was secondary. What was at the core of the movie and which drove everything else -- including action -- was
desire
.

The two main characters are shown respectfully, in a way that makes their desires felt.

It's never about the car chases and shootouts. It's about why the characters are doing such in the first place.

Hey now don't be blaming me for loss of streak. I think I am due for another viewing. Supposedly the writer is working on a prequel movie.
